Poetry By Cheyenne
There's a lot of poetry on here. Happy, sad, funny, horrible, and terrifying.
But it's all poetry, and it's all mine
And I'd love to share it with you
So give it a read!

“Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia.”
― E.L. Doctorow

Shaking music, 8 bit tones that almost cover the voices.
They’re not laughing at you, just about you. Very different. Don’t listen.

Can someone fix that microphone?
Or is that a fly zapper?
Where’s the engineer?
Lips smacking,
microphone screams, disconnect please.

The wind’s picking up. Waves? No, just rain coming down in torrents.
We can’t even hear ourselves think.

Stop it! Come on! Don’t be a downer, help everyone else enjoy when it’s not your turn anymore.

What kind of tea party have we walked into? At least we won’t be thirsty. And the scones crunch between teeth. Crummy. Crumbly. Don’t drop.

“Greetings!” I swear, it’s a robot this time. Maybe a Darth Vader knock off. Who brought the arcade games?
The 8 bit music, combined with arcade guns and pops. Always the best. DDR? Not quite. I'll show you the steps.
Sorry, you lose. No more quarters available! Watch everybody else shooting lasers and button mashing.

Can we just fix this already? It won’t stop clanging, and crumbling sounds shouldn’t work with metal, wet clay and drum sets.
“Over there?” Okay.
The band’s starting. Is that an electric keyboard?
Oh they’re not gonna have that today? Sad.

Winds creep in thick waves that crash onto the shore. Whose decision was this location again?
The microphones give their feedback. No one is listening.

Make their words a more interesting sound.
There’s too much around anyway. Remix so it’s no longer overwhelming.
Scramble and mix in your own lyrics, beats that sound better than a rushing heartbeat, or racing thoughts.
It’ll make your own language, even if you couldn’t understand what everyone else was saying.
This makes sense.
The children will like it.
Remix It.

I love to write, and poetry is one of my favorite ways to figure out what my brain is doing.
